Talamanca Studio opens its doors!
It all started as an idea in the middle of the mountains of Volcán, Chiriquí. Talamanca Studio is the result of that journey: a store specializing in outdoor gear, carefully evaluated by experts, that connects outdoor enthusiasts and local guides with the best equipment to create authentic and sustainable experiences. More than a point of sale, it is a living space for meeting, learning and mutual support for the community that drives responsible tourism in Panama.
Last August 30, from our location on the main road of Volcán, we officially celebrated the inauguration of this dream come true with an afternoon dedicated to community, nature and adventure. It was the starting point of a project that seeks to inspire more people to live positive, well-equipped adventures from the heart of the Highlands.
A space for the outdoor community
The event brought together outdoor enthusiasts, tourism entrepreneurs, local guides and nature lovers. All shared the same purpose: to strengthen sustainable tourism and authentic experiences in this region privileged by its biodiversity and its people.
Among the highlights was the talk “On the trail of the forest: biodiversity and trails in the Highlands”, given by Nazarith Maloff, a biology student at UNACHI, who reminded us of the importance of observing, caring for and connecting with the ecosystems that surround us.
The evening closed with live music by Bartolli (DJ & Producer), creating a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere that accompanied the attendees between conversations, laughter and new plans for exploration.
More than an inauguration, a point of departure
During the meeting, participants discussed the challenges and opportunities of responsible tourism, the importance of supporting local entrepreneurship and building networks among those who live, work and explore the Panamanian mountains.
From these conversations emerged the first programmed activities and several initiatives in development, which Talamanca Studio will be sharing in the coming months. The goal: to connect more people with safe, sustainable and enriching experiences in nature.
