On Friday, May 9, we marked an exciting milestone in the journey of Talamanca Studio. Our Co-Founder, Alfredo Jiménez, signed the official commitment document with the Empreturismo program, confirming our participation in the Idea category—an initiative that offers a small but meaningful non-reimbursable fund to support early-stage tourism ventures in Panama.
This moment goes far beyond paperwork. It represents a shared vision and a step forward in building something rooted deeply in our community and in the natural beauty of Tierras Altas. Talamanca Studio was born from our passion for well-prepared adventures and the need for a space that truly serves both locals and travelers looking to explore responsibly and authentically.
The support from Empreturismo is an important piece of the puzzle, but it’s not the only one. We’re also investing our own time, energy, and resources to bring this vision to life—crafting a space where outdoor gear meets local culture, and where visitors can find guidance, quality equipment, and a sense of belonging.
“This commitment is a promise to keep moving forward,” said Alfredo. “To build not just a store, but a place where adventures begin—equipped, inspired, and with positivity.”
The funds will go toward essentials like inventory, furnishings, and foundational operations—but the heart of this project remains the people behind it and the community we’re building it for.
Thank you to Empreturismo for believing in locally grounded ideas, and to all of you who have supported us along the way. We can’t wait to welcome you soon.
Positive adventures start here.
